Mediterranean Lamb Burger:

  • 1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
  • 2 cups mixed greens

Basic Burger Instructions:

  1. Gently combine ground meat with salt and pepper (and any additional seasonings for specialty burgers). Do not overwork the meat.
  2. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into patties slightly larger than your buns, as they will shrink when cooking.
  3. Press a slight dimple in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
  4. Heat a grill, grill pan, or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook burgers for 3-4 minutes per side for medium, or adjust to your preferred doneness.
  6. If adding cheese, place it on the burger during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Toast buns lightly if desired.
  8. Assemble burgers with chosen toppings according to style.

Style-Specific Instructions:

Truffle Mushroom Swiss:

  1. Sauté mushrooms in butter with garlic and thyme until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drizzle with truffle oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread truffle mayo on bun, top burger with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and arugula.

Southwest Avocado:

  1. Mix chipotle mayo.
  2. Layer burger with pepper jack cheese, sliced avocado, pickled jalapeños, crispy fried onions, and cilantro.
  3. Spread chipotle mayo on bun and serve with lime wedges.

Blue Cheese Bacon:

  1. Cook bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels.
  2. Caramelize onions: cook sliced onions over low heat with a bit of oil for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Layer burger with blue cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, and arugula.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and spread mayo on bun.

Mediterranean Lamb:

  1. Combine lamb with garlic, herbs, and spices before forming patties.
  2. Cook as directed in basic instructions.
  3. Spread tzatziki on bun, top burger with feta, cucumber, red onion, olives, and mixed greens.

Notes:

  • For best results, bring meat to room temperature before cooking.
  • Let burgers rest for 5 minutes after cooking before assembling.
  • Substitute ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternatives for any of these styles.
  • For a lower-carb option, serve as a lettuce wrap or on a bed of greens.
